How is forgiving Student Debt fair to people who had to pay their way through school?

it's not fair

It’s not.

How is it fair to the people who didn't go to college because they didn't want to take the risk of ending up to their neck in student loan debt?
It's not "fair."

I think it’s time to forgive all mortgage debt. What say you?

That is a very childish notion. To be concerned that others are getting something you feel they don't deserve . "That's not fair!" is the often heard cry from a ten year old. It doesn't effect you if someone else has their debt forgiven. That sounds more like jealousy than sound policy.

It’s not

i paid for my education.... I’m not paying for yours

How is it fair to the taxpayers? There is $1.5 trillion in outstanding student debt.

When an injustice is corrected we have to be content with the future. My family paid for all three of my degrees, as I have for all of my children. That my grandchildren may get a proper education without a load of debt will be change enough.

So your view is that if one person had to pay userous costs, no one else should ever be free of them ?

Your way, we'd still have slavery.
