Once you've been in the military there are certain things that stay with you for the rest of your life,, the way you carry yourself, the way you tackle the tough things and handle the uncertain things,,,, I don't know if you can call it toughness as much as an ingrained behavior you never lose,,, maybe pride would be a better word. I've been out of the Army for almost forty years yet still everyday when I leave the house my boots are shined and my gig line is straight.

The rule is that the blue field of stars should always be in the highest position of honor on the uniform. That position has always been the right shoulder with the flag's blue stars facing forward.

Basically, the idea behind the backward American flag on Army uniforms is to make it look as though the flag is flying in the breeze as the person wearing it moves forward.

During the Civil War, both mounted cavalry and infantry units would designate a standard bearer, who carried the flag into battle. As this standard bearer charged, his forward momentum caused the flag to stream back.

Since the Stars and Stripes are mounted with the canton closest to the pole, that section of the flag stayed to the right, while the stripes flew to the left. Therefore, the flag is worn on the right shoulder, and wearing it backward gives the effect of the flag flying in the breeze as the wearer moves forward.

You see, I have a friend in the military who is retiring and they needed the money to be send to my account. I said sure, so I gave them my information, in which when I reeiceve the money, they wanted me to send it to someone else. So, as my friend is updating me, I come to find out that the check they sent to account was altered/ fictitious so there is a negative amount in my account. I tell my friend and the military calls my bank. My friend says they called the bank and nothing is wrong with my account, so I decide to check it and its still negative. My friend said since its the militaries money, they will come to my house and punish me. I called my bank to make sure, and they said that there indeed is a negative balance in my account. So what should I do now?

I'm 27 years old, I've been working in retail straight out of highschool for 9 years, I just started college I'm studying mechanical engineering and it looks like I will graduate at 33 years old, My plan is to enlist in the Navy after I graduate because of the work related jobs they have for my career and for paying off student loans once I get out. Which option do you think is best for me after I finish the navy and that I will be in my late 30s starting my civilian career as Mechanical Engineer?Option 1: Serve 4 years in the Navy, andcome out with alot more money. But risk having a hard time getting the job because I'll be in my late 30s?Option 2:Serve the two-year program, which includes time in the reserves and go to graduate school during that time but not learning as much I could of learned serving 4 years?

I’m 18, male, long story short i score a 34 on my asvab( i know it’s low just bare with me) and i only qualified for Aviation jobs. Unfortunately i went to do my physical and my eyesight disqualified me from getting aviation jobs. However my recruiter is getting me a waiver for HM or CS. I was contempt with doing CS however she’s pushing HM down my throat. Only thing that I’m weary of is the chance of getting green side. I don’t want to go to A school and be told you have no other option then greenside since you score was so low. Now i don’t if i got extremely lucky getting a waiver for HM with my score but I’m also paranoid of getting greenside. What should i do??
